Curio Calls

Once a month, we set up a phone booth in NYC. The same question every time:
What's a question you wish you'd asked a loved one before it was too late?

What is the Curio Calls Activation?

Before Curio Blvd was a company, Chelsey spent years tracking down the families of lost heirlooms and returning them— artwork, diaries, letters, jewelry, etc., that had been separated from the people they belonged to. What she didn't expect was that almost every single family she sat with said some version of the same thing.

"I wish I'd asked them about this while they were still here. I wish I'd asked about the wedding, about the war, about why they left...." It came up so consistently that after a while it stopped feeling like a coincidence.

Once a month, we put a phone booth in NYC with that regret taped above the receiver: what's a question you wish you'd asked a loved one before it was too late? People pick up and most of them cry. It's gone viral every time we've done it. What that tells us is that the thing Chelsey kept hearing during those heirloom returns wasn't specific to those families— it's sitting inside almost everyone walking past us in the park, and they've just been waiting for somewhere to release that regret.

Curio Blvd was built around that. When Chelsey would return something to a family, they'd receive it with so much emotion and then immediately go put it in plastic box, shoebox, or a folder in a drawer. Nothing about how they were keeping these things matched what the things actually meant to them. And then she realize she was doing the same thing-- her own keepsakes were in a shoebox too.

The Keepsake Case came from that. The Time Capsule Journal came from the other half of the same problem: the questions you can still ask, and the answers you don't want to regret not knowing. We're not going to stop doing the booth anytime soon so come to the next one. We announce them on our social!

The Time Capsule Collection

Ask questions before it's too late.

Unlike anything else on the market, the Curio Blvd app and Physical Time Capsule journal let you (or someone you love) record their life story & family history through videoaudio, or handwriting.
