Research Assesment
Every research project begins with a short questionnaire and preliminary research assessment. We review the family information, records, photos, and existing research you provide, then conduct preliminary searches to determine the best path forward. Within 1–2 business days, you’ll receive a personalized research plan with our recommended package and next steps. Your $99 assessment fee will be applied in full toward any research package you choose.

FAQs
What happens after I purchase the Research Assessment?
You’ll complete a detailed questionnaire and upload any family trees, photographs, records, or other materials you already have. We’ll review everything, conduct preliminary searches, and create a realistic research plan based on your goals and the records likely to be available.
Does the $99 assessment fee go toward my project?
Yes. Your full $99 Research Assessment fee will be applied toward the research package you choose to move forward with.
Can you guarantee what you’ll find?
No family-history service can guarantee a particular discovery. Historical records may be incomplete, restricted, inaccurate, destroyed, or unavailable. You are paying for the agreed research time, analysis, organization, and final deliverables—not a guaranteed person, record, relationship, or number of generations.
What information do I need to get started?
Start with whatever you know: names, approximate dates, locations, relationships, family stories, photographs, certificates, obituaries, letters, or an existing family tree. It is completely okay to have missing information—that is often where the research begins.
What kinds of records do you search?
Depending on the project, we may search census records, birth and death indexes, marriage records, immigration and naturalization files, military records, city directories, newspapers, cemetery records, public family trees, and other relevant historical collections.
Record availability varies by location, time period, language, and privacy restrictions.
How is Curio Blvd different from other genealogy services?
We go beyond a traditional research report. Your discoveries, records, photographs, sources, stories, timelines, and family tree are organized inside one private Curio Blvd private archive— made to understand, share, revisit, and keep for generations.
How long will my project take?
Your estimated turnaround will be confirmed after the Research Assessment. Timing depends on the package, research complexity, record availability, archive response times, and whether outside records must be ordered.
Most projects are completed within 1-2 weeks after we receive all required information.
What is your refund policy?
The Research Assessment becomes nonrefundable once we begin reviewing your information and conducting preliminary research. Larger project payments cover reserved research time and completed work. A refund is not available solely because a hoped-for person, record, relationship, or family story could not be found or confirmed.
Do you offer DNA research?
Standard Curio Blvd packages do not include DNA interpretation, unknown-parent investigations, or adoption searches based on genetic matches. Projects requiring specialized genetic genealogy may be referred to an appropriately experienced outside researcher.
Is my family information kept private?
Yes. Your research and submitted materials are treated as private and confidential. We will not share your family’s story publicly, use it in marketing, or feature it in Curio content without your separate written permission.
